Germany’s import prices increased by 11.8pc and export prices rose by 4.2pc in May from the same month last year, according to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis).
The country’s imports were up by 1.7pc and exports by 0.7pc in May compared to the previous month.
Destatis noted that the index of import prices increased by 8pc in May from the same month in 2020 and was up by 1.4pc from April. Export prices rose by 4.2pc in May on an annual basis and inched up by 0.7pc from April this year.
