Germany’s industrial production dropped by 6.4pc in February this year compared to February last year and was down by 1.6pc from January 2021, according to Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
Production of capital goods declined by 3.2pc and that of intermediate goods saw a 1pc drop. Production of consumer goods saw a 0.2pc fall in February from the previous month.
The country’s production in construction also fell by 1.3pc in February on a monthly basis, Destatis reported.
The construction price index for residential buildings construction increased by 3.1pc in February annually. Germany’s price index for non-residential buildings and industrial buildings in February also rose by 3.1pc compared to the same month in 2020.
In January this year, the country’s overall turnover in the construction industry declined by 15.6pc compared to January last year.
