The global alumina output rose to 10.98mn mt in June 2020 from 10.95mn mt in the same period the prior year, up by 0.27pc.
The alumina production in South America, Africa and Asia (excluding China), and Oceania rose in June 2020 from the prior-year period.
China’s alumina output dropped to 5.67mn mt in June 2020 from 5.91mn mt in the prior year period, down by 4.23pc.
Along with China, the alumina output in North America, East and Central Europe and West Europe too dropped from June 2019.
- North America’s alumina production was 223,000mt in June 2020, down from 238,000mt in June 2019.
- East and Central Europe’s alumina production was 358,000mt in June 2020, down from 361,000mt in the prior year.
- West Europe’s alumina output was 478,000mt in June 2020, down from 490,000mt from the prior-year period.
- South America reported 978,000mt of alumina output in June 2020, up from 922,000mt from the prior-year period.
- Africa and Asia jointly reported 1.01mn mt alumina output in June 2020, up from 859,000mt from the prior-year period.
- Oceania’s alumina output was 1.73 mn mt in June 2020, up from 1.65mn mt from the prior-year period.
