American multinational corporation, General Motor’s company (GM) announced on Thursday that Lansing Delta township assembly is all set to recommence production on August 23 after having a short setback the prior week due to the worldwide semiconductor shortage caused by the covid-19 pandemic. This makes it the fifth week of the shutdown that happened on July 19. 

 

GM communications, Erin Davis stated that their global supply and purchasing chain engineering and manufacturing teams are constantly working towards finding creative solutions while making the strides work with the supply base to diminish the effect to the most in-demand and capacity-constrained vehicles like trucks and SUVs for their customers despite the complex circumstance.
