Godawari Power & Ispat has commenced production at its new rolling mill, based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with a capacity of 400,000mt.

The mill went into operation on Feb 25, 2020.

 

The company’s iron ore beneficiation plant, with a capacity of 1mn mt, at the same site is also in operation. 

 

Permission to run both the operations was given to the company by Chhattisgarh environment conservation board on Jan 18, 2020.

 

On a recent conference call, Godawari & Ispat executives said the firm is going to produce wire rods from the rolling mill, with a forecast of cost saving at Rs1,000/mt. High-grade pellets will also be produced here.

 

The company is aiming to achieve 100pc capacity utilisation of sponge iron to increase its production of billets.

 

Godawari Power and Ispat also has a manufacturing facility with a current installed capacity of 0.2mn mt in Urla, Raipur.
