Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government of Chhattisgarh for setting up steel facilities in Raipur and Bastar regions, a recent press release said.

 

The estimated projects costs is Rs14bn for Raipur region and Rs9bn for Bastar region. 

 

These projects will be implemented in a phased manner mainly out of internal accruals. The investments will be spread over four to five years after obtaining all regulatory approvals, the company said.

 

The company, based in Central India, further mentioned that Chhattisgarh government will facilitate the company in procuring land, water allocation, coal linkages, and expeditious grant of approvals. It will also recommend to the Central government’s Ministry of Steel, Power, Environment and Forests to also provide incentives available to the mega/very large industrial projects as per the industrial policy.
