The European Commission approved Granges’ acquisition of the Polish flat-rolled aluminium producer, Aluminium Konin.
The company announced that the transaction will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Granges shared that the acquisition will strengthen its presence in Europe and its product offerings. This increases Aluminium Konin’s capacity to expand by providing foraying into electric vehicles market and the production capacity is expected to increase to 140,000mt from 100,000 mt. Granges had earlier announced that it wholly owns GETEK GmbH and Dispal after purchasing the remaining 49pc share from Erbsloh Aluminium GmbH, WKW group company.
Granges is a supplier of rolled aluminium products for heat exchanger applications. The company’s markets are Europe, Asia and the Americas. It has production facilities in Sweden, China and the United States, and have a combined annual capacity of 460,000mt.
Aluminium Konin operates an integrated rolling mill with a complete set of highly developed capabilities and offers various flat rolled aluminium products including material for automotive heat exchangers and structures, speciality packaging, and general coil and sheet products for customers in Europe.
