Swedish aluminum producer Granges plans to invest $33mn to expand the aluminum casting capacity at its plant in Huntingdon, Tennessee.
The company said in a media statement on Thursday that it plans to add new buildings and a casting line at the plant, which will increase production by 25,000mt annually and increase the facility’s downstream rolling and slitting operations’ output in-turn. The plant currently produces about 200,000mt of aluminum products per year, serving the HVAC, automotive, and power industry.
The company plans to complete the expansion within the next two years and expects to see increased profits in its 2023 earnings. Patrick Lawlor, president, Granges America, noted that this was the company’s third major investment in the US since 2017.
