Around 14 steel projects will come up in China’s Hanzhong city in Shaanxi province. These projects will be part of a CNY100bn steel industry cluster under China’s 14th five-year plan.
These projects aim at accelerating the transformation and upgradation of the steel industry; extending and replenishing the steel supply chain; and building a demonstration base for green new materials. It entails a total investment of CNY7.26bn ($1.13bn).
The cluster in Hanzhong will produce series of high-quality special steel products, steel structures used in the construction industry, steel strands, cold-rolled hot-dip galvanizing. It will also look at the comprehensive utilization of waste slag, and blast furnace gas, promote equipment manufacturing.
