China’s Hechi City in Yizhou district initiated a project for mass production of aluminium alloy lightweight mini-cars, which would have an annual output of 300,000 vehicles. The project will be constructed in Yizhou District’s Luodong Industrial Concentration Zone.
The total investment for the project is approximately CNY5bn ($0.71bn). The construction will take place in two phases. The first phase includes an investment of CNY2bn to produce 300,000 aluminium alloy mini vehicles. On completion of the second phase of construction, the project would produce 500,000 units.
Hechi City’s aluminium alloy car facility will be developed focusing three major industrial clusters concepts; lightweight, new energy, and intelligent interconnection will serve as a national lightweight mini-car technology demonstration park. It will also support auto parts and components enterprises in the region and help establish Yizhou’s auto industry from scratch.
