Indian primary aluminum company Hindalco plans to expand the production of value-added products over the next three-seven years. The company plans to invest Rs80-100bn ($1.07-1.34bn) for the expansion, according to its annual report.

 

The company plans to expand its downstream business with a new extrusion plant at Silvassa of annual capacity 34,000mt. The plant would have three extrusion presses with its products catering to the requirements of the building and construction, automobile and transport, electrical, consumer, and industrial goods sectors. 

 

Expansion plans also include a greenfield site at Mundra, with a recycling facility of annual capacity 93,000mt. The company is in the process of acquiring land for the unit. Hindalco will also expand its flat rolling annual capacity at Hirakud to 340,000mt from 135,000mt.
