Ferrous and non-ferrous metals recycler HJHansen has purchased Uniscrap Ltd from the Essingen, Germany-based Scholz Recycling Group for an undisclosed amount.
The Danish recycler said in a statement on Jan 27, that the acquisition would result in HJHansen’s turnover reaching €300mn. It will also add the 34 employees across six of Uniscrap’s Denmark locations to its rolls. Uniscrap is headquartered in Denmark and has an annual revenue of €50mn.
Christian Junker, chairman of HJHansen said that the recycler had implemented a turnaround process a year-and-a-half ago, which had resulted in significant cost reduction and efficiency increase. The acquisition would also result in the company expanding its reach within Denmark.
HJHansen currently has operations in Denmark, Sweden, Turkey, and China.
