Vietnamese steelmaker Hoa Phat’s construction steel sales volumes in June 2020 rose by 35.6pc to 252,000 mt over the prior-year period, according to the company’s release.
Hoa Phat led in the southern region with the sale of 65,000 mt, nearly double compared to June 2019. The central region sales volumes rose by 20.6pc to 38,533 mt, in the same period.
During the first six months of 2020, the company supplied 1.51mn mt construction steel to local and overseas markets, up by 12.4pc over the same period last year. The southern region’s sales doubled to 357,000 mt.
The output of billet was 2.6mn mt. The amount of steel billet exports during the first six months was about 831,000 mt, with June sales accounting for 165,000 mt.
In June, the exports of construction steel products rose by 67.3pc to 203,000mn mt with Japan, Australia, Canada, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia being the major importers.
