German coatings and additive manufacturer Höganäs has set up a 24,000 square feet facility at its Johnstown, Pennsylvania plant to expand its capacities and reach in the North American market.
The company indicated on Aug 16 that the new facility would improve its additive manufacturing capabilities. It will also add metal injection molding, which will help the producer extend its reach in the over 20,000mt powder and feedstock solutions market.
Moreover, the new plant in Johnstown will also produce fine powders for steel coating through an atomization operation.
