Japanese auto manufacturer Honda’s Chinese unit sold 81,556 units in February, a decline of 48pc from a month ago due to fewer working days in the month and the Chinese New Year holiday, the company said in a statement.

 

Of the total sales, sales of GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda stood at 36,586 units and 44,970 units, respectively.

 

In February, the company’s sales of CR-V SUVs exceeded 10,000 units. Total sales of models equipped with the sport hybrid system stood at 10,864 units.

 

In the first two months of the year (Jan-Feb, 2021), Honda China’s cumulative vehicle sales stood at 239,013 units. GAC Honda’s sales in the Jan-Feb period stood at 103,907 units, while Dongfeng Honda’s sales stood at 135,106 units in the same period.

 

On, Feb 2, 2021, Honda’s first PHEV model ‘CR-V e+’ was introduced in China with guiding prices ranging from CNY273,800 ($42,360) to CNY299,800 ($46,385) after subsidies. The new model CR-V comes with three powertrain solutions – fuel-burning, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid.
