Hong Kong-based Jinchuan Group’s copper production rose to 73,057mt in 2019, up from 61,624mt in 2018. 

The company’s copper sales in 2019 were 75,549mt, up by 18pc from 64,101mt in 2018.


Jinchuan operates three mines in the central African copper belt – Ruashi copper and cobalt mine Katanga province, DRC; Kinsenda copper mine in the DRC; and Chibuluma copper mine in Zambia. 


Through its copper mining operations, the company generated $387.6mn in 2019, up from $370.5mn the year prior. 

From trading of externally sourced mineral and metal products, Jinchuan generated a revenue of $781.5mn, down by 2pc from the year prior.


The company attributes the decrease in revenue in 2019 to lower prices of copper. Jinchuan claims copper prices declined by 8pc in the year, affecting revenues.
