Turkish companies exported 193,000mt of hot-rolled coils (HRC) in January-February 2021 compared with 509,000mt in January-February 2020.
According to statistical source SteelData, flat product supply from Turkey to Italy and Spain dropped by 88pc and 67pc to 27,000mt and 24,000mt, respectively, during the period under review.
Turkey shipped 28,000mt of HRC to Tunisia, 20,000mt to South Africa, and 18,000mt to Pakistan, while there was almost no export to these destinations in January-February 2020.
In February 2021, Turkey’s flat product exports were only 72,500mt, which is the lowest level since May 2016, when it was 69,000mt.
