Hyundai Motor Company is partnering with Singtel to develop smart vehicle manufacturing technology and connectivity of electric vehicle battery subscription services.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by both companies, Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) will conduct further studies on future mobilities and solutions. Hyundai and Singtel will also develop manufacturing solutions using the latter’s Internet of things (IoT) technology and info-communication technology to digitize vehicle production. The new technology will eventually be deployed across all Hyundai manufacturing plants globally, Hyundai said in a statement on Friday.
Both the firms will also work on IoT for the batteries powering Hyundai’s EVs, the carmaker indicated.
