Total sales volume of Industrias CH (ICH) grew 17pc in the first half of 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, driven by robust international and domestic demand.

 

ICH sold 1.5mn mt in pipes, special and commercial steel products in H1 2021, compared to the 1.3mn mt in the same period a year ago. Sales in Q2 2021 increased 30pc to 764,000mt from 589,000mt, in the same period last year.

 

The increase in steel prices favored the Mexican manufacturer’s net sales, which had a jump of 76pc to MXN32.5bn ($1.6bn) sold in H1 2021 from MXN17.9bn sold during the same year-ago period.

 

ICH sold 72pc more this year abroad than in the first half of 2020, up to MXN14.6bn from MXN8.5bn. In the local market, sales rose 81pc, to MXN16.7bn from MNX9.2bn.

 

In Q2 2021, the company’s net sales doubled from last year to MXN16.9bn from MXN8.3bn. Abroad, ICH sales increased 91pc in the same period, to MXN7.8bn from MXN4bn, while domestic sales rose 123pc, to MXN9.1bn from MXN4.1bn.
