Vancouver-based mining company, Imperial Metals, produced 32,613.29mt copper in the 2019 fiscal year, up from 27,369.31mt in the prior year.
The company also produced 36,471 ounces of gold as compared to 79,056 ounces gold, the year prior.
Red Chris, one of the company’s mines, produced 9,842.95mt of copper in the Oct-Dec 2019 period, up from 7,062.43mt in the prior year.
The production of all metals increased in the fourth quarter from the prior quarter. The daily output at Red Chris mine amounted to 27,784mt.
Expansion plans:
* Two drilling campaigns are ongoing at Red Chris. The first is the East Zone Resource Definition Programme and the second is the Brownfields Exploration Programme to search for additional zones of higher-grade mineralisation within the Red Chris corridor.
*Drill activity increased during the Oct-Dec 2019 period with six diamond drill rigs in operation. Seven drill holes are completed which amounted to 14,742 metres, by Dec 31.
*The East Zone Resource Definition Programme includes 16 holes of which two holes have been completed and a further five holes are underway.
