India has ruled against levying anti-dumping duty on imports of flat-rolled stainless steel products originating or exported from 15 countries.
The final findings in the investigation commenced by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on Dec 23, the trade body had recommended the imposition of duty for five years on the mentioned product. DGTR stated that the domestic SS industry was impacted due to dumping from the 15 countries and suggested a duty of $67-944/mt. DGTR conducted the probe after receiving complaints from domestic industry participants, including ISSDA, Jindal Stainless, Jindal Stainless Hisar, and Jindal Stainless Steelway.
The department of revenue, has, however, decided not to impose AD duties on imports of flat-rolled SS products from China, Korea, EU, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, USA, Thailand, South Africa, UAE, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
