The weekly Davis Index for ADC 12 in Delhi remained unchanged at Rs112,000/mt ex-works as downstream industries remain shut till April 14 to comply with the Indian government’s lockdown orders.
Alloy manufacturers are unable to book new imported scrap consignments as shipping lines offices located in Mumbai and Kolkata remain closed. A few containers have already arrived at the seaports. Buyers, however, have been unable to collect those in absence manpower for loading/unloading and lack of inland transport.
The weekly indexes for ADC 12 and LM6 in Mumbai settled flat at Rs120,500/mt ex-works and Rs146,000/mt ex-works, respectively, both unchanged. Even though the lockdown is nearing its end, downstream industries have not placed any orders with the alloy makers. The likelihood of government extending this lockdown has kept downstream industries away from trades.
