Indian shipbreaking prices remained mixed on Tuesday amid slow demand from re-rollers in Mandi Gobindgarh and Gujarat. The daily Davis Index for 10Ani rose by Rs250/mt ($3.39/mt) to Rs32,750/mt ($444.63/mt) ex-Alang.
The daily Davis Index for 12Ani settled flat at Rs33,150/mt ex-Alang while the index for 14Ani declined by Rs50/mt to Rs33,200/mt ex-Alang.
Among other rolling scrap grades, the daily Davis Indexes for 2kg plates rose by Rs100/mt to Rs31,100/mt ex-Alang, and for 5kg rose by Rs200/mt to Rs31,700/mt ex-Alang with a few transactions reported at index price.
Shipbreakers reduced offers to stimulate sales. The daily Davis Index for HMS attachments and Melting declined by Rs300/mt each to Rs30,200/mt and Rs29,200/mt, ex-Alang, respectively. Transactions were reported at index price.
