Major stainless-steel manufacturers, Jindal Stainless and Jindal Stainless Hissar have filed for the extension of anti-dumping duties from China, Malaysia and South Korea.
The Director General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has opined to extend anti-dumping duty for the next five years on selected categories of stainless-steel products which are being imported from South Korea, China and Malaysia.
Duties being set would be dependent on the category of the product. The finance ministry will take a final call on the duties to be levied.
The government had imposed anti-dumping on the same products back in 2015 on plea of Jindal Stainless and Jindal Stainless Hissar and the quantum of duty was higher.
