India has initiated an anti-dumping sunset review on hot-rolled flat products of alloy and non-alloy steel in coils of a width up to 2100mm and thickness up to 25mm originating from China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia.

The India Steel Association had filed an application on behalf of Steel Authority of India, JSW Steel and ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel India. The move comes after the applicant alleged continued dumping from the subject countries even after the imposition of anti-dumping duty. The applicant has requested for extension of duties on imports of subject goods.

The initial anti-dumping investigation from the subject countries was launched on April 11, 2016 by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR). Provisional anti-dumping was recommended for a period of five years with effect from August 8, 2016 until August 8, 2021.
