Motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield’s new vehicle sales in September increased by 1pc to 60,041 units from 59,500 units in Sept 2019, the company said in a statement. The company’s domestic sales in September grew by 2pc to 55,910 units from the prior-year period. The motorcycle maker exported 4,131 units, up by 11pc from 4,642 units last year.

 

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI)’s domestic sales increased by 10pc in September to 500,887 units as compared to 455,896 units in the prior-year period, according to the company’s statement. The company exported 25,978 units in September, taking the sales tally to 526,865 units.

 

TVS Motor Company’s total vehicle sales in September rose by 4pc to 327,692 units as compared to 315,796 units in the same month in the year prior, and increased by 14pc from 287,398 units in August.

Exports in September stood at 85,163 units, up by 19pc from 71,569 units in Sept 2019.

In the domestic market, TVS sold 71,570 units, up by 24pc from 57,746 units during the same month last year.

The company said that production in the month increased despite challenges in the supply chain due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
