Eurofer urges smooth negotiations

The European Steel Association (Eurofer) has requested the European Union (EU) and UK to reach a comprehensive trade agreement as soon as possible so that the steel industry and its suppliers and users enjoy frictionless trade. Some of the areas where Eurofer wants the EU and UK to work closely include mutual market access, alignment of standards in state aid, tax matters and other regulatory measures and practices. EU submitted their negotiation mandate on February 25 while UK submitted theirs two days later. Both can agree on an extension, but they must complete negotiations before July 1.
