Iran’s aluminum ingot production in the first eight months of the Iranian calendar (Mar 20-Nov 21, 2020) stood at 271,300mt, up by 52.2pc from the prior-year period, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).

In the Mar-Nov period, the country’s alumina powder output rose by 2.3pc to 156,000mt from the preceding year.

The rise in output was driven by the inauguration of the new two factories – Jajarm Aluminum Complex and South Aluminum Company – in the prior year.

In April, the country inaugurated its largest aluminum production complex in the central Fars province that is expected to double the country’s aluminum production once operational.

The country’s aluminum ingot output could grow by 63pc by the end of the current Iranian year (March 2021), as per media reports.

Iran aims to increase its annual aluminum ingot output to 1.5mn mt by the Iranian year 1404 (March 2025-March 2026).
