Iranian steelmakers produced 4.69mn mt of steel ingots in the first two months of the ongoing Iranian year (March 21,2020-May 20,2021), up by 4pc from 4.52mn mt in the prior-year period, according to Iranian media. Billet and bloom output in the period dropped by 2pc to 2.7mn mt from 2.76mn mt in the prior-year period, according to Iranian Steel Producers Association (Ispa) data.
The country produced 1.99mn mt of steel slabs in the period, up by 13pc and sponge iron output rose by 11pc to 5.5mn mt from the prior-year period.
The country targets to produce 28mn mt of steel ingots by the end of the ongoing Iranian year.
