Iran’s steel products output fell by 2pc to 3.43mn mt in the first two months (March 21 -May 20, 2020) of the ongoing Iranian year from the prior-year period, according to Iranian media.
The country has outlined 16 development projects to boost domestic steel product output. These projects include the construction of new production units which could add a total capacity of 1.91mn mt to the country’s existing production capacity.
The country envisages raising its production by 17.3mn mt in the next five years.
In the March-May period, the country’s steel product exports fell by 60pc to 809,665mt from 2.41mn mt, as reported by Davis Index.
