Iran produced 1.53mn mt of steel products in the first month of the Iranian year (March 20 to April 19, 2020), down by 8pc from 1.66mn mt in the prior year period, according to local media.
The country’s 10 major steelmakers produced over 20.22mn mt of steel ingots in March-April period, up by 5pc from the same period a year ago.
Iran’s steel products exports surged to 7.33mn mt in the Iranian year ending March 19, up by 27pc from last year. The country produced 47.30mn mt of iron ore, up by 4pc from a year ago.
