Steelmakers in Iran target to produce 26mn mt of steel ingots by March 20, according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro). Imidro also expects to export 40-45pc of the total output.
Iran’s steel ingot production, including blooms, billets and slabs crossed 15.3mn mt in first nine months from Mar 21- Dec 22, 2019.
Khuzestan Steel produced 1,729,142mt of steel ingots in the Iranian month of Azar from Nov 21- Dec 22 and contributed 18.2pc to Iran’s total steel production. Steel ingot production by Iranian steelmakers in first eight months from Mar 21- Nov 22 rose by 4pc, from the prior year.
