Iran’s aluminium producers produced 65,170mt of aluminium ingots in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20), up by 58pc over the prior year period, according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro) cited by local media.
Of the total production, Iran’s Iran Aluminium Company (Iralco) contributed 31,984mt, up by 4pc from the prior year period followed by Hormozal Aluminium Company and Almahdi Aluminium Company with 13,537mt and 11,881mt, up by 163pc and 128pc, respectively, from the year prior.
In March to May period, South Aluminium Company (Salco) and Iran Alumina Company’s output stood at 44,93mt and 3,275mt, respectively.
The country targets to produce over 800,000mt of aluminium by March 2022 and 1.5mn mt by 2025. Iran’s annual aluminium production capacity is 457,000mt.
