Iran’s aluminum ingot production in the first nine months (Mar 20-Dec 22, 2020) of the Iranian calendar stood at 325,222mt, up by 66pc as compared to 196,329mt in the prior-year period, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development Renovation Organization (Imidro).

 

The top aluminum ingot producers in the nine months were IRALCO (140,640mt), Al Mahdi Aluminum Complex (119,688mt), South Aluminum Corporation (47,077mt), and Iran Alumina (17,817mt).

 

In the ninth month (Nov 22-Dec 22, 2020) of the Iranian calendar, the country’s aluminum ingot grew by 55pc to 38,774mt from the same month in the preceding year, as per media reports.

Iran’s alumina output in the Mar-Dec period stood at 177,239mt, up by 3pc as compared to 172,087mt in the prior-year period, while in the ninth month, it declined by 2pc to 18,334mt from the same month the year before.

 

Iran’s aluminum ingot output is expected to rise by 63pc by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 2021), as per local media reports. Alumina powder is an inert, odorless, and white amorphous material often used in industrial ceramics.
