Iran’s automotive output rose by 9.4pc from March- June 2020 compared to the prior year period, according to the data released by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).

 

The country produced 336,699 cars and commercial vehicles during the three-month period, up from 307,666 units in the prior year. The output of passenger vehicles increased by 9.3pc to 317,810 units from 290,877 in the previous year, local media reports said.

 

Production of passenger vans also increased to 224 units from 210 units, up by 16.2pc. Pick-up trucks’ production witnessed an increase during the period, with 14,080 units being produced ,up by 8.2pc from 13,000 units in the prior year period.
