Iran’s ministry of industry, mining and trade recorded a domestic production of 700,800 cars from March 2020 until January 2021.
According to news reports, the current numbers show a 13.9pc growth compared to 615,200 cars in same period in 2019. The production of pickup trucks grew by 14pc to 68,298.
Buses, minibuses and vans production totalled 1,537 units. Domestic production of agricultural machinery and tractors was up 44.2pc and 13.6pc from prior year peiod.
Iran’s production of passenger cars has grown 17-fold over last 42 years.
Iran plans to increase car production by 50pc by the end of June 2021.
