Eastern Iran-based Chadormalo mill records all-time high daily production of 3,887mt steel despite the sanctions imposed by the US, according to Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade (MIMT), as reported by local media. The factory produces 1.3mn mt of crude steel annually.
Iran produced produced 6.75mn mt of crude steel in Q1 2020 (Jan-March), up by 13.26pc from the prior quarter as reported by Davis Index. The country produced 5.5mn mt crude steel last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) exceeding by over 25pc compared to prior year period.
Iranian government plans to further boost the crude steel production to 50mn mt by 2025 and exports to amount to 15-20mn mt annually.
