Iran’s copper anode production increased by 6pc to 149,233mt in the first five months (March-August) of the Iranian calendar as compared to the same period year prior, according to Iranian media reports.

 

Copper anode production in August stood at 28,031mt, up by 24pc from the same month last year. Copper cathode production in Iran reached 110,000mt during the March-August period.

 

Iran has initiated several projects to increase its annual copper concentrate production by 450,000mt. The production of copper concentrate in Iran during the past Iranian year was 5pc more than the planned figure.

 

According to reports, Iran’s copper exports have doubled in the past year despite sanctions from the United States.
