Major Iranian companies produced 41.64mn mt of iron ore concentrate in the first ten months (Mar 21, 2020-Jan 19, 2021) of the Iranian calendar, registering a growth of 6pc as compared to the prior-year period, according to media reports citing data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).
The main iron ore concentrate producers in the ten-month period were Jalal Abad, Gohar Zamin, Sangan Opal Parsian, MIDHCO, Gol Gohar, Sangan Steel, Chadormalu, Markazi, and Sabanour.
Gol Gohar achieved the highest production volume, recording 13.87mn mt of iron ore concentrate.
In the tenth month (Dec 21, 2020-Jan 19-2021) of the Iranian calendar, the country’s iron ore concentrate production increased by 5pc to 4.98mn mt from the same month in the prior year.
Iron ore pellet output
In the Mar-Jan period, Iran’s iron ore pellet production rose by 12pc to 38.51mn mt from the same period in the previous year, while in the tenth Iranian month, iron ore pellet output stood at 3.95mn mt, up by 25pc as compared to the same month in the preceding year.
