Iran’s iron ore concentrate production in the Iranian year 1399 (Mar 21, 2020-Mar 20, 2021) stood at 49.7mn mt, up by 5pc as compared to the preceding year, according to local media reports citing data released by the Industries Ministry.

Of the total iron ore concentrate output during the year, Gol Gohar produced 16.2mn mt, while Chadormelo’s iron ore concentrate production stood at 11.4mn mt.

During the same period, Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) produced 6.2mn mt of iron ore concentrate, while Gohar Zamin and Central’s output stood at 4.4mn mt and 4.2mn mt, respectively.

In the Iranian year 1399, Sanabad Inclusive Development Industrial and Mining Company and Opal Parsian Sangan Industrial and Mining Company’s iron ore concentrate production stood at 2.5mn mt and 2.3mn mt, respectively, while Sabanour produced 1.4mn mt of iron ore concentrate in the same year.

In the 12 months, Jalal Abad’s iron ore concentrate output stood at 397,808mt, while Sangan Iron Ore Complex produced 265,646mn of iron ore concentrate in the same period.

 

Sales

Iran’s iron ore concentrate sales during the year 1399 stood at 18.7mn mt, down by 8pc as compared to 20.2mn mt sold in the previous year.

 

Twelfth month 

In the twelfth month of the Iranian calendar (Feb 20, 2021-Mar 20, 2021), Iran’s iron ore concentrate production fell by 5pc to 3.5mn mt from 3.7mn mt produced in the prior-year period.

The country’s iron ore concentrate sales in the Feb-Mar period fell by 17pc to 75,092mt from the same month in the preceding year.

 

Granulated iron ore output

In the 12 months of 1399, Iranian companies produced 902,454mt of granulated iron ore, registering a decline of 54pc as compared to 1.9mn mt produced in the previous year.
