Iran iron ore pellet production in the Iranian year 1399 (Mar 21, 2020-Mar 20, 2021) stood at 46mn mt, up by 10pc as compared to 41.7mn mt produced in the preceding year, according to data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).
Of the total iron ore pellet output during the year, Golgohar’s iron ore pellet production stood at 12.2mn mt, Mobarakeh Steel Company produced 7.3mn mt of iron ore pellets during the same period.
Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company’s (MIDHCO) and Khouzestan Steel Company’s iron ore pellet output in the 12-month period stood at 6.2mn mt and 5.5mn mt, respectively.
In the twelve months of the Iranian year, Chadormelo produced 3.7mn mt of iron ore pellets, while Opal Parsian Sangan’s and Sangan Khorasan Steel Mining Industries’ iron ore pellet production stood at 3.4mn mt and 3.3mn mt, respectively.
In the same year, Khorasan Steel’s production of iron ore pellets stood at 1.6mn mt, while Sanabad produced 1.2mn mt of iron ore pellets.
Iran Central Iron Ore Co (ICIOC) produced 748,000mt of iron ore pellets in 12 months, while Saba Noor Steel produced 500,000mt of iron ore pellets during the same year.
The country’s annual iron ore pellet production capacity surpassed 66mn mt in the Iranian year 1399, as per local media reports.
Several iron ore projects are currently under construction. These projects are expected to add a total of 25.92mn mt of iron ore pellet production capacity per annum by the Iranian year 1402 (2023-2024).
