Iran’s iron ore pellet output up in H1 (Mar 20-Sep 21, 2020) of the Iranian calendar increased by 9pc to 22.8mn mt from the prior year period, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).

 

In the sixth month (Aug 22-Sep 21, 2020), the country’s iron ore pellet production stood at 4.1mn mt, up by 23pc from the prior year period.

 

Sponge iron production in H1 grew by 8pc to 15.5mn mt from the same period year prior, while it stood at 2.6mn mt during the sixth month, up by 12pc from the prior year.

 

In the Mar-Sep period, the country produced 24.6mn mt or iron ore concentrate, up by 4pc from the prior year period, and in the sixth Iranian month, the output rose by 6pc to 4.2mn mt from the same month last year.

 

Iranian top companies produced 7.2mn mt of steel products in H1, up by 3pc from the prior year period. In the sixth month, steel product output grew by 9pc to 1.2mn mt from the same month last year.

   

The country’s steel ingot production in H1 increased by 7pc to 11.2mn mt from the prior year period, while the output in the sixth month stood at 2mn mt, up by 11pc from the year prior.
