Iran’s total long and flat steel products’ output in the first nine months (Mar 20-Dec 20, 2020) of the Iranian calendar stood at 16.61mn mt, up by 63.51pc as compared to 10.16mn mt in the prior-year period, according to local media reports citing data by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

 

Of the total steel products’ output in the Mar-Dec period, production of long steel products grew by 14pc to 8.69mn mt from 7.62mt mt produced in the same period last year.

 

Production of flat steel products in the nine-month period stood at 7.91mn mt, up by 5pc as compared to 7.53mn mt produced during the same period in the previous year.

 

Iran’s steel production is expected to surpass 30mn mt by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 2021).
