Iran’s total steel exports in the Iranian year 1399 (Mar 21, 2020-Mar 20, 2021) stood at 9mn mt, down by 13.1pc from the preceding year, according to local media reports citing data released by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
Steel billet exports in the period fell by 23pc to 4.5mn mt as compared to the previous year, while exports of steel bloom stood at 1.5mn mt, down by 6pc as compared to the prior year.
Steel product exports
The country’s steel product exports in the 12 months fell by 18pc to 2.8mn mt from the year before.
Iran’s exports of long steel sections stood at 2.1mn mt, down by 17pc as compared to the preceding year, while rebar exports fell by 18pc to 1.8mn mt from the prior year.
Exports of steel flat sections during the 12 months declined by 20pc to 645,000mt from the year before.
The country’s steel exports fell in the Iranian year despite significant production growth, as per media reports.
