Iran’s steel ingot production in the first eleven months (Mar 20, 2020-Feb 18, 2021) of the Iranian calendar stood at 20.43mn mt, up by 7pc as compared to the prior-year period, according to data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).
Of the total steel ingot output in the 11-month period, Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) produced 8.92mn mt, while Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) produced 3.47mn mt.
Esfahan Steel Company’s (ESC) steel ingot output in the Mar-Feb stood at 2.81mt mt, while South Kaveh Steel Company and Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company produced 1.25mn mt and 927,617mt, respectively.
Khorasan Steel Complex Company produced 841506 mt of steel ingots in the first eleven months of the Iranian year, while Jahan Foulad and Arfa Steel produced 763,633mt and 746,162mt, respectively.
Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company (MIDCO) produced 594,374mt of steel ingots in the Mar-Feb period, while Iran Alloy Steel and Bonab Steel produced 468,412mt and 357,462mt of steel ingots, respectively.
Steel products output
In the Mar-Feb period, Iran’s output of steel products grew by 3pc to 13.34mn mt as compared to the same period in the prior year.
The manufacturers of steel products during the period were MSC, ESC, Azerbaijan Steel, Khorasan Steel, Iran Alloy Steel, Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex, Ahvaz Pipe Industrial Company, Khuzestan Auxin Steel Company, Chaharmahal Bakhtiari Car Sheet, Bonab Steel, and Kavir Steel Company.
Sponge iron production
The country’s Sponge iron production in the Mar-Feb period stood at 27.84mn mt, registering a growth of 10pc as compared to the same period in the preceding year.
