Iran’s steel ingot production in the Iranian year 1399 (Mar 21, 2020-Mar 20, 2021) stood at 22.5mn mt, up by 8pc as compared to the preceding year, according to data released by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The largest steel pellet producer in the 12-month period was Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) which manufactured 9.8mn mt of steel pellets, registering a growth of 8pc from the preceding year.
In the twelfth month of the year (Feb 20-Mar 20, 2021), the country’s steel ingot output grew by 17pc to 2.40mn mt as compared to the same month in the previous year.
Iran is now the tenth-largest steelmaker in the world and aims to reach seventh place in the world by the Iranian calendar year 1404 (2025-2026).
