Raw steel production in Italy declined by 18pc in January-October to 16.7mn mt from 19.8mn mt in the same period last year, the Italian Iron and Steel Association – Federacciai reported.
In October, Italian steel output fell 4.6pc to 2.1mn mt from 2.22mn mt in the same month last year. However, long steel production rose by 3.7pc to 1.26mn mt, from 1.22mn mt in the same period under comparison.
Italy’s flat steel volumes also declined in October, by 12pc to 882,000mt, against 1.02mn mt in the same month of 2019.
