Italy’s raw steel production increased by 3.2pc to 2.04mn mt in November over the same month last year, according to the Federation of Italian steel companies (Federacciai).
However, crude steel volumes were still down by 14.2pc in January-November, tallying at 18.7mn mt, compared with 21.8mn mt in the first 11 months of 2019.
In November, Italy produced 1.1mn mt of long steel products, up 1pc from 1.09mn mt in November 2019. Meanwhile, the country’s flat steel output fell by 7.4pc to 810,000mt in the same period under comparison.
