Italian crude steel production rose to 6.2mn mt in Q1 2021 compared to 5.2mn mt in the same period in 2020, according to Italian Steel producers Association (Federacciai).
March production increased to 2.3mn mt from 1.37mn mt from the same month last year.
Italy’s long steel product output in January to March period grew to 3.3mn mt compared to 2.6mn mt in the same months in 2020, Federacciai reported. Long steel production in March alone increased to 1.2mn mt from 643,000mt in March 2020.
The country’s flat steel output saw an increase to 2.7mn mt in the first three months of the year compared to 2.6mn mt in the same month last year while its flat steel production rose to 943,000mt in March alone from 853,000mt in March 2020.
