Volume of registered cars in the Italian automotive market in the first seven months of the year grew by 38pc to 995,239 units from the same period in 2020, according to National Association of Automotive Industry (Anfia). In July, registrations fell by 19.4pc to 110,292 vehicles against 136,768 units in the same period in 2020.
Registration of diesel cars in January-July dropped by 7pc on an annual basis and fell by 50.9pc in July from the previous month. Gasoline cars registered increased by 3.5pc in the seven month period from the same period last year.
Registration of alternatively powered vehicles surged 173.3pc in the year till July from the same period in 2020 and it was up by 65.1pc in June alone from June last year. ANFIA reported that electric vehicle registrations rose by 35.7pc in January-July, annually, and grew by 39.7pc in July from the same month last year.
Registration of non-rechargeable hybrid vehicles surged by 245pc in the first seven months on annual basis and rose by 86.7pc in July alone from July last year. Rechargeable hybrid vehicle registrations increased by 8pc in the first seven months of the year from the same period last year and increased by 207pc in July alone from July 2020.
